Default Seat belts

Hi All,
Our 1998 V40T4 has done 190000kms and the drivers seat belt has failed. It is locked and won't allow the belt in or out.
I removed it and am able to gently feed belt on or off the reel but too intermittently for use.
Any thoughts on what action to take other than buying a new one?
Thanks, Ian

Sorry, no answer, but I also have a V40 seatbelt problem: ours has become very frayed. Any ideas how to stop the fraying... and where i can get a new seatbelt (drivers side).
thanks

you could always try breakers one i have used is 247 spares they are very knowledgable and give a prompt service,as for the fraying issue if you follow the belt up to the door pillar check the plastic slot it comes out of i have used a small very fine file to clean up the edge to make it smooth again hope this helps both of you out Volpete

Thanks for the replies. Looks like a new one is required.
