fuel economy ?????????
my 1.8gdi seems to use alot of petrol ie: not very economical can anyone advise as to any known problems ie: control valves , throtle bodies, sticking etc idle valves , egr etc etc etc thanks paul

hi Paul,

Firstly, what's your driving habits like, do you only do short journeys, leave the car idling in the cold mornings to defrost it, have a heavy right foot, late braking?

none of the above ;
i drive very steadily i dont have a heavy foot !
mostly town driving ie: 25mph - 45/50 mph max
the computer says av 32mpg ive worked it out to 26/28 mpg
just seems very thirsty to me ????????????

any other symptons, such as poor idle, lumpy when accelerating?
Any chance you could pop a spark plug out and inspect the colour/condition of the electrode?
