Potentially for sale - V40 T4 Sport Lux 2003
Potentially I am selling my T4 - I say "potentially" since I am not totally convinced we should be coming down to one car, but have agreed to try it for 2 or 3 weeks and we'll make a final decision then.
So at the risk of me changing my mind, here goes with the for sale advert! "Winnie" is known in other threads on here and on the back of "Driver" a couple of editions back. First registered 30th Jan 2003, she is V40 T4 Sport Lux in Maya Gold. In excellent condition and only 89,700 miles on the clock. Obsessively looked after and cleaned/polished etc, and maintained at no expense - last serviced to schedule Dec 2013 at Volvo main dealer; MOT until January 2015 (no advisories). All the Sport Lux usuals - climate control, cruise control, leather upholstery, winter pack (heated seats, xenons (just had new bulbs), headlamp wash-wipe, front & rear spoilers etc etc. Also has clear side-markers, HU1205 sat-nav, mud-flaps, strut-brace, 10 disc cd changer, detachable towing bracket, bumper cover, roof-rail cross-cars and rigid load-liner (all genuine Volvo). Set of Goodyear tyres - all with plenty of tread - on 16" Crater alloy wheels which are in good condition for their age. Road tax until end of August 2014. Only work done beyond routine servicing was new (Volvo) discs and pads all round two years ago, and new suspension arms at rear to correct a tracking issue (done by Volvo using genuine parts, hence new rear tyres in Jan 2015) I know I am biased, but I really do believe this is an exceptional car with plenty of life left in it, so I am not prepared to part with her for peanuts! Having looked at other ads, Glass's guide, etc, the price will be around £1,950. I know many will say that's expensive - and perhaps it is - but I honestly believe the car is worth it. It may be this sale doesn't happen in any event, but if anyone is interested please do get in touch! Regards David Last edited by dcw; May 19th, 2014 at 17:28. |

Expensive, but if you're after a low mileage T4 then it'll be worth it - There aren't many around now
Very tidy looking car! |

Sounds fair to me - it is a top dollar price, but it is a top dollar car. Maybe even a bit cheap. You'll regret selling it

Nice low miliage car well looked after, hard to find the right price with a car you have maintained and loved/cared for, for so long. I've had 8 t4s now and it gets harder everytime!!

Thanks for the encouraging comments guys - I was worried about the price because it is so hard to be realistic balancing age against condition/mileage etc.
Alex: you bet I'll regret selling it!! I am hopeful that 2 or 3 weeks will demonstrate to SWMBO that we really do need 2 cars... Had some interest already though, which is nice David |
