Unhappy 99 V40 1.8non-GDi project £200 or will break, cheap parts?

OK folks so I'm posting to see how much interest there is for parts from my V40 before I just strip a few bits off and weigh it in it's a 1.8 (Volvo engine) manual, winter pack with just over 100k on the clock, most service history IIRC up to 90k, black leather with little wear but some marks (emulsion paint?) on a couple of areas, should clean off without too much effort. Car runs and drives brilliantly and I'm sad to be having to get rid of it without completing the "project" (VIC, MoT, tidy up scuffed corners, replace engine cover.)

All parts are currently available, won't be asking much for anything just as long as theres enough interest to make it worth stripping so make an offer or you can buy the complete car for £200.
Collection preferred for parts but could post small items. Only reason I'm now breaking instead of finishing the project (cat c with small amount of fire damage to coils/leads, runs fine with new leads on though) is because I no longer have the time to mess with cars due to family commitments.

The car is in crewe and if bought before I start stripping it can be driven away (on trade plates) or trailered. Any interest in parts or the whole car, either reply here or PM and I'll get back to you. Cheers, Dan.

(EDIT-: car has to be gone by next Tuesday ideally)

Its imposable for me to buy it 'cos A £200 & B to far away
Someone here will be interested if only to break it for profit.
This is the vulture bit that i hate, but, dibs on rear wiper arm and a price? if you scrap the old girl yourself.

Sorry to see the car go, especialy when you see the lucky punt you had with it!

Yeh I know, price of scrap ain't great at the mo but someone with more time could certainly make a few bob breaking it themselves at that price as you said.

If I do end up weighing it in I'll strip as much of the commonly needed bits off as I can in an afternoon & I'll save that wiper arm. May as well have that for the price of postage TBH it's not made of platinum or owt

'tis a shame as it's a good solid car with history and low-ish mileage but really short on time now and could do with the money too as we've spent more than planned on the Citroen. If it was only a diesel, or drank less petrol we'd have kept the Volvo instead but the lure of 70mpg cruising was too much to pass up on a budget like ours!

Hi Dan,

how much would you be after for the seats (front and rear) if you decide to break it yourself? If they are in decent nick (pics?) and the paint does indeed come off, I would be interested in the full set! It seems people have managed to fit a full set in the v40, so I could make it a road trip up the m6 and come to collect!

Thanks,

Trond

for the seats only, no door cards etc? I think the going rate for leather heated seats seems to be around the £100 mark, but bearing in mind the marks etc I'd say 75 would be fair, or I may have a look at cleaning the spots off myself then would be looking for 90.

Still not sure whether to break or not TBH, I've got some air rifles that I'm selling too and if they go quickly as they're priced to, then I may be able to finish the Volvo after all and sell it as a going concern. I'll let you know by tuesday what I'm doing anyway as that's when I'll next be over that way, and can get photos then too. Cheers.

no worries, thanks for the quick reply! sorry didn't realise they were heated. I dont have heated seats atm or intending to upgrade, so they would be "wasted" on me as such. Fingers crossed you can get the funds from other sale to keep your project going!

It's a long shot, but would you have the alarm/locking fobs plus receiver for this?
Thanks.
