Cool Help! 480 Towbar Needed for camping hols

Hello all,

I am looking for a towbar for my 480ES (1992 1.7 non turbo) and am frustrated by the fact that most manufacturers seem to have discontinued this product.

I've tried Ebay (got pipped at the post with two last week )

Any ideas?

All suggestions welcomed (except of course any that infer I should change my car!)

Thanks

Martin

Just out of interest what exactly are you going to be towing? Its just the 480's pretty small and Im worried you might get overtaken by a big caravan or something

From memory, 480 is good for 900kg tow weight & turbo is good for 1000kg. May have to get me book out though....... don't think I'm that far out. That sais not sure I'd go for that weight with my turbo!

It will just be a small trailer with camping gear and a couple of children's bikes on top. We will only travel a couple of hundred miles max, before my sons wish to set up camp and just chill. I'd say we will be waaaaaaaaayyyyy within the 900Kg limits.

Thanks for the replies - if you know where I can get a towbar I'd be very grateful!

The chappy in France, Paul, says he is worried that the extra 59Euros postage will make it a non-starter.. We shall see!!

Cheers

Martin

On my Dutch reg. for my '93 480S the towing capacity is 498kg without brakes and 1000kg with brakes.
