If you are after a decent all terrain tyre look no further than Goodyear Wrangler AT. I have these in 235/65/17 and have had them on for 18 months/15k miles and they have been fantastic. Great tread wear, low noise and were £85 a tyre at the time.

Thanks very much for that measured useful advice and I will definitely have a look at them.

I have Goodyear Ultragrips on at present and they have been very good but I'm after a more aggressive A/T tyre so the ones you mention may be worth a look.

Thanks again.

Thanks Greg, I've had a look at them and pretty certain I'll be going for them. 👍

I don't know how much this will help you really but have used Toyo Proxy T1R's on previous cars (Honda S2000 * 2, Honda Civic Type R). Levels of dry weather grip were immense, 70 db (quiet-ish), wear rate was very high at 12k miles but much different driving style employed in these cars compared to XC90.

Couldn't get Toyo's to fit the B7 RS4 (again very different driving style) so switched to Avon. Have had Avon's fitted to every car since (RR Sport, another B7 RS4, XC90 * 2 and Merc E350)

Cheers

I've just put 4 Gyear Wranglers on my newly acquired XC90 too, to replace some budget rubbish that had been put on it weeks before I bought it.

With the recent rain the car feels planted, noise levels low and MPG unaffected.

I think they were around £100 a corner, but got them with 10% off and Goodyear had a free hotel night promo on recently too.

Well worth a look.

Thanks for that. The Toyo Open Country A/T get a cracking write up and more importantly are V rated.

I had Toyo Observe G-02 plus, winters. Made in Japan. Exceptional tread wear, silent, really good snow grip, good price. A very well made tire, which makes me think Toyo is a serious company.

Thanks , that seems to confirm that they are a good tyre as plenty of very similar feedback on the web.

The Toyo Observe looks a good tyre.
