Because plastic against plastic wears out.

I've got 127k on mine and it's still fine,

£61 for that metal arm kit is a joke. Easily made from a visit to a model shop if you want one made from metal.

Do you know any online model shops where I can get parts to make one ?

What do you think ?
This kit seems to be the solution for people with broken ball joint, as it seems he cuts it away anyway.

I deleted the whole flap system from my V70. Took away the swirl flap axle and filled the remaining groove with cnc machined aluminum bits. Of course, to do this you have to remove injectors, intake manifold etc.

Default XC90 turbo problem?

I am pretty sure the MAF is ok, but may try a swap out with a known good one to be sure.
I may just do an EGR inspection/clean next. It won't harm if it needs doing.

But if anyone fancies suggesting some other easy checks/swaps/changes, I'd be pleased to hear them

Cheers

I have all the faults listed, have got replacement swirl flaps to go in as my local garage has done a smoke test and have a air leak. My mechanic can't get the injectors out, told him to put the car back together until I can afford to get a specialist in to do it.
Did the attached post get resolved?
Thanks,

Just come across this. My XC90 has 150miles and only now it has failed.

I've seen some solutions posted on this thread where an o ring was used, but i wonder if i use some aluminum sheet, and in a sense wrap it around the inside of the female joint (i.e. the bit where the ball join fits into) if that will create a snug fit, whilst still allowing movement in the joint?

I just need to figure out how thick the sheet needs to be (i think 1mm should be fine).

Do you think this will work? or just a dumb idea?
