Red face Wet N/S carpets - poor window seal

I've finally worked out why my previously dry outdoor living C70 cabriolet (ragtop) had developed a damp N/S front carpet and a saturated N/S rear carpet.

We had nearly 3" of rain in North Kent just over a two hour period late Monday afternoon 10 June 2019, with a further 2" overnight, the windows usually make a very good watertight seal.

However, maybe when the front N/S window winder motor/cable gave up the ghost a few weeks ago, whilst I had fully "pulled up" the front window to make a seal, the rear N/S window must have dropped a fraction because what had been a waterproof and sealing window was around 1mm lower than it was previously......the water & dirt track marks down the inside of the window show exactly where the leak occurred. Needless to say the offending window has now been "helped back up" the last mm and hopefully once again makes a good seal.

Just feel so stupid for not checking it at the time or indeed before the heavens opened in view of the amber warning, because let's face it, I had 4 weeks to do it!
Only myself to blame...again!

Talking of seals.....if any one is looking for a temporary mobile home for a rescued pinniped the nearside of my C70 may well prove to be a short term solution!

The shorter the better - now, if I can only borrow the wet-vax from indoors.............without anyone noticing
