Gear selection
Hi,I bought a 1966 Duett last week. I drove it from Yorkshire to Hollyhead, to bring it to Dublin.
The car has been dry stored for 5 years. It's very difficult to select gear when the engine is running. It selects gear fine when not running. Any suggestions? Cheers |

Welcome to this forum! Your shifting symptoms sound like inadequate travel of the throwout/release bearing or clutch linkage...I'd check for wear or lost motion, and touch-up adjustment. Need for adjustment is confirmed by turning OFF motor and trying to shift (when things are not turning)...if it shifts a lot easier, again check and adjust clutch linkage. Good Hunting from Connecticut! |
