Some ideias....pls

2004 XC70 D5 awd 214.500.

Hello
I hope some of you can help me with this. I hve fixed most of the things on my car, but what annoys me is when i can get to the bottom of the problem.

What could be the reason for this....

When i start the car we can hear the BASS from the egr valve, i start to drive and at 2000 rpm the car IS LOUD at 1800 or 2100 its very silent and smooth. SO you can drive the car for 10 min or an hour and 2000 rpm is LOUD. Then you stop the car for 30 to 40 min. When you drive it again ITS SMOOTH AND SILENT even at 2000 rpm!!!?????

ANY IDEAS pls? Where to look

Hi I think the valve may need cleaning, the egr should be closed when revs/boost stat to go past tick over, is the car still making boost when you get the loud sound ?

Yes it does.
Today i removed the intake manifold and i am cleaning it and changing the valve cover gasket. it had a leak.
Its a new egr (the valve, cooler is the same but all cleaned) and all was cleaned 3 months ago.
