Drivers Door Module replacement questions.
Hi there,
On occasions and happening more frequently the drivers door lock pin will half raise when unlocked and will remain in the same position when locking which sets the alarm off as it registers it's not properly locked. A simple unlock and lock tends to solve this but it would be good to get it fixed. I'm thinking of replacing the drivers door module to try and solve the locking issue but also maybe at the same time fix another issue (the speedo / rev clocks flicker when the drivers door is opened) they might be related? Is it as simple as switching ddm's over, or will the new / used ddm need programming and coding to the car. Thanks for any help here. |

I wonder if it's not rather the unlock mechanism inside, sometimes these disconnect at some place. May be worth looking with a flash light behind the door board

Thanks for the suggestion, I will take a look. Do you know if a replacement electric door lock (whether new or a used part) would have to be coded to the car in order to work? |

Our 03 V70 didn't need any of that. Got a used part and made sure that the number on the label on the bottom is an exact match, eight digits I think.

Correct and absolutely essential. When mine went on my S60 I got a used one with none matching numbers and it didn't work. Next one had the correct numbers and resolved all issues.

I totally get the need for matching numbers for the control block ( I have fallen foul of that) the edge lock's a bit harder to grasp. Cheers bob |
