XC60 and Nokian WR Tyres.
After managing to obtain over 68000 miles, with a set of Nokian WR's, fitted to, two, different XC90's, I was surprised to find, that a set, fitted to my XC60, have worn, slightly over, 1 mm, after 17050 miles. (11 mm to start with)
Eco pressure at 39 psi. Did not pay too much attention when the Service Dept, passed comment, on how well they were wearing. It was only, after looking at the service sheet, that I noticed the readings. (9.9 mm on all tyres) Can only put, what appears to be an extended life, down to the XC60, being some 500 lbs lighter, than the XC90. Bad news - Nokian are stopping production of the WR's and those that can be obtained (mytyres) are over £160, each. Weak £, against the Euro. Good news - The WR's should last, around 100,000 miles, before reaching 2 mm. tem. |

How do they handle - they must be very hard compound which in my experience give reduced grip ?

I think, after some 85000 miles, driving in Norway, Sweden and numerious countries, in Europe + the North of Scotland, the WR's have proved themselves, 100%. If there was a reduced problem with grip, then, I would not drive on them. tem. |

Sound like a great tyre for all occasions - I'll keep these in mind when the need arises to change.
I have used Toyos for the last six year on a Subaru Impreza - only on my second set in 50k miles - shameful lack of misuse some may say :-) |
