Default advice on 164 purchase

I have the chance to purchase a 164E, MOT'd and in running condition are there any problem areas I should be aware of? How about spares availability?
Thanks in advance

If car is ok when you get it make a note to join the Volvo Owners Club, then register the car with the 164 Series section. If you are not already a member, e-mail me your address and I will post a Blue Postcard to you. This just needs to be filled in then popped in the post (it is Freepost). Make sure that you get as much service history as you can including the owners handbook. One of our members is selling one in good working order for £700 o.n.o., it is a 1975 car.

All the best, Peter
