Oil in coolant - caused by clutch change?
Hi Guys.
I've just had my clutch cylinder changed a couple of weeks ago. I parked up the car yesterday but when I came back to start it the engine management light was on and the oil warning and the engine wouldn't turn. Checked the oil - levels are good and the oil doesn't look contaminated. Checked the coolant and it's black so I stuck my finger in and did the sniff test. No doubt about it that there's oil in the coolant. What I was wondering is if there's any way the garage, who did the change of my clutch could have caused this? I'm guessing that the oil cooler is leaking into the coolant (google search hints towards this). It could be just coincidence but I'd just like a second opinion before I go spending a small fortune of getting to the root of the problem. Also if there's any advice you could give me on locating the problem myself that would be great. I'm not afraid to get dirty Cheers |
