And i did suspect a worn bearing at 1st, but when i put a different dmf in, and dropped the boost to not bugger it, it went away. Speaking to my local volvo specaialist he reakons some m90 chatter and some dont - luck of the draw. But chatter is common on 4 pots as there is no overlap in the firing re crank rotation. Fires every 180 degrees so 4 bangs per 2 spins of the crank which means the pistons get back to their start before the next fire happens to spin the crank, a dmf being heavier and internally sprung, damps these shocks out so they don't hit the gears, and at speed they happen so fast as to be unnoticable - that was my takeaway from talking to a number of people about it (mechanics and race engineers who almost always use smfs) 5 and 6 pots have overlap (fires every 144 and 120 degrees respectivly) so shouldn't be such a problem - will find out soon as i have a single (and v.light) flywheel to go on my t6...
