C70 Roof, access to Hall sensor 3
Since I bought my C70, if I pressed the boot button to lift the glass for access, it did nothing but create a roof fault condition.
More recently the roof has started to refuse to operate - either refusing to open or refusing to close. After waiting and trying again I have managed to complete the task in hand and when started it has always completed the operation. When chasing a different problem, a VIDA scan showed that the roof hall sensor no.3 was dodgy - might be intermittent or showing an unexpected ground. I would like to replace the sensor and apparently it is found under the passenger side rear seat trim which I first need to remove. If anyone knows how to get access to this sensor and/or to remove this trim I would love to hear about it. I did investigate lifting the seat base to reveal the bottom of the trim panel but it didn't want to come free with the force I was happy to apply. Has anyone done this before ? thanks, |

The instructions for retrofitting front parking sensors shows how to remove the rear seats and some of the trim (section 6,7,8 and 9 on the document linked below).
https://accessories.volvocars.com/In...utomatic/R.H.D It take a hell of a lot of guts to pull the seat base out first time. When it goes, it goes with a bang. You can't use too much force!! From what I can remember, once the seats are out, you can see any retaining screws (being old though, they will probably break. I know mine did), but most of the clips are behind the panel and just pull off with force. You also need to remove the small panel along the rear of the sill (shown in the doc. below). These clips will definitely break. Have attached the hall sensor replacement document if you don't have it.
