Default DPF differential pressure sensor help!!! PLEASE!!!

Hi, please help. I have an 2005 S40 Diesel and keep getting the intermittent "limp-home" mode. It is very random and stopping and starting the engine often clears the problem. I have no warning lights on the dashboard and no other messages. Lately it has got worse, and the the ECU is showing the fault codes of P2452 and P2453. I have a feeling that the sensor is at fault having had a recent DPF fitted and the fuel additive topped up. I think I know the location the sensor; on the side of the battery box? I have a feeling that this sensor was tampered with prior to me buying the car. I have taken a picture of the sensor itself where the attached electrical connections are suspiciously wrapped in black electrical tape - clearly not a factory fit. I believe the sensor may be at fault. Could someone please verify that this in indeed the pressure sensor I am looking at and perhaps provide a photograph of how the electrical terminal connection should look without electrical tape on it.
The sensor looks easy enough to replace, but does the ECU need any software fettling once a new one is fitted? Many thanks in advance.

that is the sensor and they do come with black tape wrapped around the connector from new !

there are modifies sensors with pipes which will stop the code and limp home mode.

the fault with the old sensor will be moisture travelling up the pipes into the sensor.

Surely if you've only recently had a new dpf and fluids top-up, your first option should be to take it back to the garage that did the work. What if it's a fault with their work. Fiddling about first with any part of that system on your own is surely a mistake

1. Take off the old sensor.

2. look at the part number stamped on the moulding

3. ring locall Ford dealer and ask if they have one in and then go and collect.

4. Refit and then drive car for abouit 20 miles under a variaety of conditions.

5. Resrat engine and it should be fine.

volvo part number is 30757189 for the sensor. i put new pipes and a new sensor on 2 years ago, first one failed in 6months and replacement has gone again. very poor design from ford.

I agree , like many many leftovers from the ford era . The only problems volvos have now are the ones FORD left us with ..
