The first one I had on my 2.0D lasted 50k miles and was replaced by Volvo under warranty.

That then lasted until 103k miles, when I then obtained one from the Ford dealer. Ford dealer was nearer and £15 cheaper than a Volvo sourced part but was identical. That's why I went to Ford.

Matt,

Did you fit the pipes yourself?

Were the the metal pipes that dissapear into the bowls of the engine down to the dpf?

How difficult was it to do?

I need a new sensor but considered getting new pipes too.

You can use a Peugeot sensor too (PSA engine I replaced this sensor on my V50 2.0D 2005 with sensor from Peugeot 607 2,2HDI and work fine...But conectors are not the same and you need to cut the cable and connect to old conector. 3 wires: 5V, Out and GND.
Replase that sensor quicky because he is responsible for activating buring in DPF. Otherwise that can block and demage DPF....
