Default Broken Glove box

The handle on my glove box in my V50 broke a few months back. I managed to get the glove box open by taking the side panel off and pressing the latch in. I've now completely removed the glove box from the car.

I've now completely dismantled the door which isn't designed to be taken apart as its glide together. I found the broken plastic catch a glued back together but I doubt it will hold.

So, I'm looking at having to replace the glove box!!

Does anyone know:

A) can you buy just the door rather than the whole glove box?
B) is the lock specific to your key or will any key open it?
C) if it's key specific how on earth do you replace the lock so they key matches the rest of the car?

Thanks

Richard

64 views no replies, guess a few people broke their glove boxes but didn't have a solution for fixing them. Guess no one is a two Volvo family and could try the key from one car in the glovebox lock of the other.

1. Give FRF Motors (Volvo Dealer Swansea) They will tell you what is required and also answer point 3.

2. Yes the lock iis specific to the car. Only your key blade will open your glove box.

LINKY! - FRF Details, see post #512

Now, which way is unlock , clockwise or anti clockwise? (I've forgotten which way to tu en the key!!)
