Economy run
Been down to my Fathers in Devon this weekend to do a bit of gardening amid the showers and decided to do an economy run.
Distance covered 360 miles, and averaged 64 mph and approximately 58 mpg. Little bit boring just poodling along at 65-75 mph but pretty good mileage figures. Wasnt in a rush so thought I would give it a go. |

Getting around 42 mpg 1.6 petrol mixed motorway, country town and cities. Light footed and never go above 70 mph and use cruise control a lot. This is a 30% saving over my previous car.

Almost round to the next full fill up and only got 280 on the clock. I reckon I've only got another 60 - 70 miles if I am lucky. Pretty bad MPG, although I haven't done any long distance driving what-so-ever and certainly not done any toottling.

Just did a tank in the C30 and from --- miles left then fill and back to --- miles left was 52 litres and I got 227 miles so that just under 20mpg but it was all town driving.

I was on my own as thewife was working, I was between shifts( 4 days on 4 days off), so just me and the radio and cd player to while away the time. Interesting that not many people are really booting it like they used to just a year or so ago.
Saves on my wallet and at the end of the day, doesnt take that much longer really. As for stress, none. Also plenty of time to see the scenery. Did see the Police chase a car up the Avonmouth Bridge slip road and force it to stop. Wonder what that was about. |
