I personally don't know if the engines are the same mechanically but if not you'd spend thousands and thousands (literally) getting all the parts, paying Volvo a huge amount to program it all up, if they're willing, as most Volvo dealers won't touch custom work and at the end of it you'll be no better off?
Are you thinking of this as your 1.6D has blown?

well mine has died basically 😢
I was told that essentially the block is the same. So wondered if it could be fitted along with all the (for want of a better term) ‘outside bits’ of the engine from the volvo. I was hoping so as i know someone who is scrapping a fiesta so it would be cheap. |

Going by that article i think im right to assume that theyre the same...i think.
I understand that the other bits such as sensors and pipes and things might be different but i can swap those from the engine i have as theyre all good. Essentially its just the actual engine itself that i need and im assuming all the gubbins inside are the same? Of course when i say ‘i’ i mean a mechanic not me. Thatd be an awful scenario for the car! Thanks alot guys. |

Why don’t you contact Lakes Volvo breakers to see if they’ve got one in stock? I’d save you a lot of work.
