Bump. Motoring journalists really don't live in the real world, do they?

I mean I'm very pleased that they like the C30, but when will they admit that most modern cars feel exactly the same to drive (i.e. boring), and that most people choose cars based on how they look, what the badge says about the person in the driving seat, and how nice they are to sit in.

These are the same people who said that the original Focus was by far the best car in its class. I can't ride in one of those damn things for more than a couple of hours without getting cabin fever from the horrible ride and cheap looking interior.

If I'm stuck on the motorway all day I want something cheap on fuel and COMFY. If I'm having a thrash across a twisting B road, I certainly don't want to do it in FWD econobox with hard as hell suspension to make it "handle well"!

Ooh, did I rant? I'd like a C30, if they weren't so damn pricy...and if the D5 came as a 6-speed manual. I think they have a good thing going - I know a lot of people of my age (early 20s) who are buzzing about this car. Sadly, I think it's too expensive for most of us - by the time we'll be able to afford something this pricey, many of us will need something larger!

cheers

James
