C70 MK2 Ball joint
Replacing the front wheel bearing I was going to replace the two bottom ball joints.
I see you can purchase new (bolt on) ball joints - the bottom arm is hollow and the flange of the ball joint slides into the bottom arm and is fixed by three bolts/set screws and nuts BUT on my car they seem to be riveted on NOT nuts and bolts/set screws. Do I just grind off the rivets pull out the old joint slip in a new one and then fix thenew ball joints by bolting them on? thanks

My 2008 C70 has rivets also. Maybe easier to change the whole bottom arm. I had to do this for the bushes.

I second that. I had to replace both arms due to bushes being worn, as it turned out, ball joints were all knackerd also. So good result all in and it made more economical sense. It's an easy job as well. Wheel alignment is a must after such work done, so take it into account. Cheers.

Thanks I think I will replace the bottom arms and the track rod end ball joints and do the whole front end job properly (I just replaced the front wheel bearings).
It is not that much more expensive to replace the whole arm vis a vis just replacing the ball joint really and probably a lot less hassle too. Then I need to get the wheels refurbished and some new tyres as well. Obviously the car will then go for a front end (maybe four wheel) realignment and a new MOT at the same time. thanks
