Done the initial registration but can not log in to set it all up, seems like they have issues with the website.

Just registered a few minutes ago, tried last night but kept getting a blank screen with "502" in the corner. Received an email a minute ago saying:

"Thank you for contacting us. Your requested changes will appear in your account in a few days. For your security, we must ensure that all the information is correct.

This process is done manually, which is the reason for the short delay.

Best regards

The My Volvo team"

Just have to wait now and see it says about my car and me, if it is done "manually" it may be Monday before they reply.........

That's what I got GrantA when I first signed up. All my details were populated the following morning.

As suspect that new orders and second owner details are stored on separate CRM systems.

Yeah, I had to add my car details and I'm still waiting for them to put it on. Hopefully it should appear next week.

I registered on the evening of the 23rd and got the manually adding message, but it's showing up now.

Couple of points I've noticed - the specification listed shows Tempa spare and Njord wheels. When we got the car it didn't have the spare (ok, so someone else nicked it before we got the car), but it has Balder wheels, not Njords.

Now, I read somewhere that Njords are wider (8J) than Balders (7J), which a quick check on volvo's site confirms. However, I read also that cars fitted with 8" wide wheels (eg Njords, 18" wheels, etc) have a steering lock limiter fitted to prevent the wheel rubbing. Since the online spec shows Njords for our car, does that mean it's fitted with the limiter, despite now having the Balders on?

And in order to answer my own question...

It's easy to check:

Without Limiter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgc0KhY4XJc

With limiter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mU0TIEkoeNM

Volvo also clearly list the limiter here: http://accessories.volvocars.com/Acc...ent/VCC-463627

Part no 30760164

So, next time I'm out in the car and remember, I'll check for the limiter...

I wonder how big a job it is to remove?

Would you recommend removing the limiter on 18" Wheels? I've got Venators' fitted, with the steering limiters too.

No, the limiter is required on any 8" wide wheel, which is all 18"s that volvo offer.

Cheers I-S.

Back on to subject... I read something interesting online about Volvo's infotainment system. I don't know if anyone is interested in technology stuff on cars, but I suspect given Volvo's uptake on Ericssons' new Service Enablement Platform for Automotive, the ability to do some fancy Sensus stuff from within the My Volvo portal wouldn't be too far off in the future...

I can confirm that the latter is accurate with the 18" Fortunas on my D5.
