If you have already removed and compressed springs to replace the shocks, it's a doable DIY. Still has some tricky points that will depend on the user how comfortable is with them. I also show in a video most of the details for a complete suspension job. It's important to have quality tools - such as quality torx sockets and a nice 2ft 1/2" driver breaker bar. Secondly, as mentioned above, most Volvo parts are made by other companies, such as Sachs and Lemforder. Not all parts may need replaced, for example the strut mounts last quite a while and aftermarket ones are not that good quality https://youtu.be/pxC9Ek9HhGI For the control arms I also recommend genuine bushes pressed in or Powerflex ones

I can confirm that FRF were excellent and very helpful when I called. Prices for the control arms is very good, as is the price for the ball joints, but those droplinks are something else! Just over £100 for the pair. I've seen that people have fitted Meyle ones and said that initially they were good...but has anyone reported back after a few years? I fully appreciate that genuine Volvo ones will go for 100,000 miles plus.

Meyle parts are decent. I haven't used them myself, but there's threads on here where many have & gave them nothing but praise.

If you do decide to use Meyle, then buy the heavy duty drop links. They seem to be a popular option & come with a four year warranty.
