Default disconnecting sensors during ferry crossing

It was whilst popping over to the Isle of Wight recently that I found I could not disconnect the (1997)V90's alarm tilt sensor to avoid it going off if the Solent got rough. I followed the instructions on page 2:7 of the owners manual, but they were not the easiest to follow. Anyone else find this and can offer better instructions or where to find them?

The last time I took my 940 on a ferry I locked the doors with the key. This secured the car without setting the alarm at all.

Just lock with the key.
Unfortunately not as easy with more modern cars 🤣

Cheers

Default locking car during ferry crossing

Thank you for the extremely helpful advice to lock my V90 with the key thus avoiding the alarm sensors being on. Now why didn't I think of that!? I tried it today whilst on my drive and sure enough it worked although the key needed to turn 1/4 turn clockwise to lock then anticlockwise to unlock which is opposite to what it says at page 2:00 in the manual!! Still, all OK and am looking forward to my next ferry crossing! Thanks guys.

My drivers door is “left” to unlock and “right” to lock - it’s the reverse on the passenger’s side

Cheers
