Default ATF JWS 3309 Recommendations

Morning

I'm going to be doing a auto gearbox oil change on my 5 speed 2005 D (119000miles), not sure what method yet.
Any recommendations on what brand of oil to use, Mobil seems the best, but very pricey. Other brands I've seen are Pemco, Westway, Smith & Allan, Exol & Chempioil to name a few.

Paul.

I've used Smith and Allen several times and if you buy directly from them, their 20 litre drum of synthetic fluid was £80 last time I bought.

+1 . Very good firm and been around for years. I use their JWS 3309.

I have not used then but at that price I would.

I would do dumps each time I service the car and keep it lovely and clean.

Yes, I've said it before that's my plan.

If you have the undertray off to drop the engine oil, doing a gearbox sump dump at the same time shouldn't break the bank and certainly won't add too much time either.

I'm fortunate enough to be able to call in and collect it from themhttps://www.smithandallan.com/produc...mission-fluid/

Same- great service, great oil - did full flush a year ago and all sweet. I am going to do a 3L dump (sounds terrible!) this year to keep fresh; after flushing 5 times I still have around 4L left from 20L drum

Went for 20 litres of Mannol in the end, £57:01 delivered. Plan to do sump dumps (or sump sucks through dipstick tube) using the whole 20 litres, then every engine oil change I'll do one 3 litre sump dump. Plan on keeping the car for as long as it lasts. Had my previous motor a 300 TDI Discovery for 17 years, hope the Volvo lasts this long !

used this in my 3.0 dci espace (same transmission) and my XC90. Cured issues on both.
