Fuel pump relay
Hello all,
About to start on my third fuel pump relay for my 240GL B200E with CI... I pulled the relay from a scrapped 740 behind the ashtray in the centre console. Looked identical till I got home and noticed the numbers on top are different and it is 12V/30A. The first two relays I have (the one in the car when I bought it a year ago and a replacement one I found) are 12V/16A. Both have been bodgily soldered - one is now non-op and the other seems to resurrect my fast idling problem. Is it okay to use the new 12V/30A relay (all pins are numbered identically) or will I blow summat up? Cheers, Gareth. |

The (green) relays for the K-Jet models were modified to improve reliabilty and I think you have both early and later models. You can use the higher amp relay with no problems, the rating is what the relay can theoretically carry, not what it puts out. Colin. 1990 740SE B200E/M47, remote C/Locking. |
