RE: 940 wentworth estate turbo
Don't know myself but it might be worth posting at European forums like turbobricks.org and others, as they will know a bit more.
The car will certainly respond to standard tricks like tightening the wastegate actuator arm a couple of turns, or fitting a bleed valve, but it would be worth getting the experience of others on just how far you can take it. |

RE: 940 wentworth estate turbo
Hi
Am I right in thinking that the 940 wentworth is 2.0 ltr with a low pressure turbo if so you may be able to fit the high pressure turbo from a 2.3 ltr only an idea cheers Alan |

RE: 940 wentworth estate turbo
If you can get at the overboost cutout located under the dash , you can run whatever boost you want . Some guys in america are running 14 -16 psi on an otherwise stock engine , with a turbo and air fuel ratio meter to monitor if the engine is leaning out under boost . 12 psi would be achievable with a manual boost controller , std is 7.5 or 9 psi , double check if yours is low pressure turbo , the compression is higher to compensate , hence limiting the amount of boost . The keywords here are detonation , avoid at all costs , engine damage and destruction result . You should be safe at 12 psi although no guarantees could be given because i dont know how good your engine is !! . hang around on the turbobricks forum , you can pick up loads - exactly why i developed the boost controller - its the english version of a dawes device or grainger valve .

RE: 940 wentworth estate turbo
I was under the impression (but this is only very vague!) that the LPTs only differ from the HPTs by the ECU program, which limits the boost on LPTs?
I am quite likely wrong though - dont care cos the insurers say I cant drive dads 940 anyway....sulk....! cheers james
