Default R-Design blue dials

Hi

Hopefully an easy question for the experts.

I have just bought a 2011 S40 D3 R-Design. Very pleased so far but as I am still waiting for the manual from the dealer I'm not sure if the nice blue dials should light up "blue" as it gets dark. There seems to be the usual illumination of the numbers etc, but no blue illumination from the dials. Is this as it should be or do I need to take it back to get fixed?

Many thanks

I thought it was just the background illumination that was blue, not the dials themselves?

The opposite is true, the background is blue and has green backlighting.

This is correct as the dial is just blue coloured and all the back lighting is green just like the rest of the C30, S40, V50 and C70 models. The last V70 & S60 R's had very nice dials, I do kind of wish the R-designs had that finish.

Default Blue dials on R-Design

Thanks for your response.

I think it is a shame that the dials are not illuminated blue as otherwise it doesn't really seem much of a selling feature of the R-Design model just to have them a blue colour. Still, at least I know there isn't a fault, and the car does otherwise look very good
