Currently planning to put together another set of wishbones / front suspension arms with purple Powerflex bushings installed as a back up set. They might even be up for sale once they're done, though they may be cost prohibitive given the costs involved. The original aluminium suspension arms didn't come up too good when I cleaned them, so I contacted a local man who specialises in vapour blasting. He showed me a multitude of parts from bikes and cars that he had vapour blasted, and they looked better than new to be honest. I decided to leave the suspension arms with him today for blasting. He likes to complete all jobs within two days including weekends. Will report back once they're done.

I was getting frustrated listening to the Everton game so got my car ramps out and axle stands. I stared at them, then cleaned them as most of my car is in the garage and part of it is in Romford.
Then I started adding to my list. I did the oil and filter thing the other day, air filter, spark plugs, dumped the locking wheel nuts in the bin and have already made a hash of the stone chips. I got some nice shiney Michelin Pilot Sport 4s on last week so was praying today that they are still on the car - parked outside a garage in Birkenhead. And prayed the turbo and other parts of the car are still on it too. My list gets bigger so I have transferred it to an excel spreadsheet: Timing belt and pump Auxilliary drive belt New coils Green injectors Uprated clutch Flux Fab exhaust K26 turbocharger Upgraded intercooler Brake pads Custom remap Replace aftermarket JVC monstrosity with HU - 650 Fluffy dice One of those hypo allergenic air fresheners that make the smell of cigarrettes disappear overnight as if by magic I have not put a £ sign on spreadsheet as I am too scared |

I just added suspension components to my list so have exited Excel and will do something cheaper instead - battlegrounds in World of Warcraft on my undead, forsaken priestess...the lovely Serraph.

Took out the waterfall grille from my V70 yesterday (without the need to remove the bumper), cleaned it with IPA and primed it, after masking it up.
Four or five hours later, sprayed it satin black. This afternoon, I removed the masking and refitted it to the car. Looks much better than the standard, all chrome item. Gary

Not a fan of the chrome grille on the V70 either.. does the one from the S60 fit in there?

Hi oragex - re the S60 egg crate grill it isn't a direct fit for V70 unfortunately.

Well, Saturday.....I fit 50 x 5 foot 6' fence posts, 100m high tensile sheep netting and other bits n bobs into the XC70 comfortably, no problems.....fairly happy with that.....then Sunday, gave it a good clean to get the wood bits out of the back
That's why I chopped in my focus for it |

I woke up with a cat on my head at 3.30 am who insisted it was feeding time so chucked him some dead animal.
I lit a cigarrette as the light was coming up and realised it must be dawn so popped my head in the garage and saw these pathetic car ramps and axel stands looking very lonely and needy. I had a slight panic as black beautiful, black T5 was not on the stands. Looked out on the road and thought I was having a nightmare. The realisation hit that it's still at the garage. Added a Gripper plate to my long list. Spoke to the Russian. Went back to bed. Got up - ate steak and egg for breakfast, worked on my list again, played Warcraft, looked for a job, went to bed again. |
