They say to clear the soot filter you need to go for a 30 to 45 min constant motorway drive at higher RPM then normal (i.e. a lower gear) to allow the car to go through a regeneration cycle.
Please extra load on the engine by turning on as man high load electrical applicances as possible: all lights and the rear window demister (a high load device). The extra load causes a hotter engine which assists in regeneration. As a side note I keep watching mine wondering when it will regenerate by my engine stays a steady 88 to 89 degrees C. When hot, it'll be 90. It might 'cool' to 87 when travelling downhill.
