No worries Ash, at that price i'll go with my hunch and circumstantial evidence so far, after all it's 31 years old and has done 224k miles so it's a fair bet it's on its last legs. I'll strip the old one on the bench, if it's fixable i'll either make a parts washer from it or recondition it as a good working spare, if not file it in the round filing cabinet!

atco. This link shows a K-jet inlet manifold. https://i.ytimg.com/vi/GSUesPKoFzw/maxresdefault.jpg or its primary purpose is to rest your cup of tea or coffee or similar.

If you have one of those under the bonnet, it is a K-jet. If not. It isn't. So far as I know....

hi steve yes i can confirm that,s whats in the picture is whats in my engine compartment and it also confirms on the timing belt cover b230e number1289140 and yes im not spending a penny more.ive had a little bit of success today in that i received a new fuel pump from the manufacture that i purchased from due to mine failing after eleven months now all i have to to is get the relay sorted with a little help from my friends also emptied the fuel tank of ten Lt of fuel today so im going to take the tank of and give it a clean inside and renew the fuel filter

hi all just needs to know about the fuel relay before i purchase. is it a white one or do i stick with the green ones i have and what do i need to do to convince people its a 230e.seems a little bit confused about whether its a green one or white and why are they diff colours but will get the vin plate number if that helps .also do i try to start the engine with the new fuel in kay

yours will be the green relay as your injectors have no wires ( mechnaical Bosch K-Jetronic ) ,
white relay for the later electronic injection with wires going to the injectors .

big day tomorrow going to fuel the 740 up and then put the meths in the tank.so hopefully cross my fingers it will start

well im afraid the car is not starting after new fuel and the meths added,the fuel relay has been clicking on the return of the key.so i think its ok. little disappointing after starting with a battery of the pump.
