v70 xc 2.4t should I LPG it
I've got a v70 xc that I jsut spent alot of money on , get most of the supension and breather pipes replace. I was now thinking of getting it LPG converted,
1. Does effect the performance much? 2. How much of the install cost do you think I will get back when I sell the car 3. Who is the best person to have it install by in the Milton Keynes area?

To answer the should I LPG it question then it is a case of how many miles a year you do and how long you will keep it for and what condition the car is currently in. There is no point converting a car that is going to need a lot of expensive work doing to it if you can buy another better one for much less money.
The engine responds perfectly fine to LPG and they do not present any problems with conversion provided a suitable system is used and installed correctly. 1) No difference in performance with turbo's normaly but it is possible to get a very small drop in power only visable on a rolling road but equaly LPG can give more power. 2) Of your £1300 conversion cost then how much of that you get back will depend on how soon after the conversion you sell the car. If the system still has warranty on it then it will sell better than one without. The exact increase of value will depend on the car etc but £500 was the amount suggest for Rob's spread sheet (see his thread). 3) I don't think there are many installers in the MK area and only one I have ever delt with but have no idea how good they are or what system they are fitting. Maybe someone local on here could advise better. |
