Hi all, does a 96 440 require a special tool to remove the sump plug???

My 440 diesel has (I think) an 8mm square drive,bought a set of different sizes from halfords.

My 1995 480 is also an 8mm square - so I imagine yours is too...

My 480 too. The spanners are 'peanuts' from Halfrauds. Good practice to replace the sump plug washer too on 400s

Both my 480 1.7 petrol and my 440 td both require the 8mm square drive. Saves a lots of messing and it gets tightened on better. Well worth the investment of 5 pounds!
