Water leaking in
I found water in both side of the boot. Right side is OK as the water was in the small plastic box. it is easy for me to clear it. But the left side is troublesome. Quite a lot of water has leaked in through unknown place and left underneath the battery. I can't find any obvious wet or damp part in the rear end of the car. Anybody could share some information which could help will be much appreciated. Many thanks, Neo

Id be checking the rear drains if you have a sunroof?
Sounds like they are blocked. |

Are the exit drains, underneath the car somewhere - you’ll have to google, are they blocked?

I checked the sunroof drain tube from the boot. It is not blocked. I also poured down some water around the window frames, tail light frames and the roof rail. But didn't find any water leaked in yet. I am going to tape the sunroof. A waste of having it, but maybe an easy fix for me. I will keep reporting the results. |

Easy way is,
Open the sunroof with the car facing down hill. Pour some water in the sunroof channels and the water should run out by the front wings. Now do the same with the car facing up hill. Pour the water in the channels at each side and the water should run out by the back wheels. If you dont get 4 seperate streams of water when doing this, you have a blockage, simple! Its odds on a blockage Id say, a common issue with Volvo sunroofs. |
