What is the problem with the engine? Has it seized or knocking, just won't run etc?

I'm just thinking more information may encourage more interest.

It's not for me as I've just bought a non-running V70 and don't need another!

Just noticed, you've posted in the newer model V70 section as well - if you ask a mod to move it, they probably will.

im just outside of romford if anyone wants me to take a look, pm me.

i figure that with an oil leak its either seized or cracked head and an engine replacement jobbie.

i would guess that an engine for this year of car would be about £1000 s/h not including refitting.

regards A

D5 engine. Dmf was replaced in 2011 at around 60'000 miles. 75'000 miles now. Engine died on the M25 and was towed home. I am guessing new engine required as it was due to an oil leak and running out of oil. Engine will not start. I am suspicious that the drain plug may not have been replaced properly at its service. Good car which for someone who knows what they are doing will prove a bargain. I bought the car from new. Will try and add a picture.
