  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Again, my V70 has been making that noise for years, there's no slipping, dragging or snatching in the clutch so it just keeps eating up the miles, just monitor the situation and don't worry. Should the clutch start to play up I'm quite open to replacing it at a cost of more than the cars value probably (and while they've got the box off they can do the crankshaft seal too), but I'll wait and worry about that when it happens.

Just an update..there is no noise as I take off in 2nd gear bypassing the 1st gear engagement. Is this of any relevance?

different forces , different resonance , this time you cant hear it .. possibly !
