  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

One thing I've found is these 'Warning Messages' rarely display long enough to be read. It's really rather annoying.

Perhaps federal or state laws prevent the use of fuel-fired pre-heaters. California, for example, has much stricter emission laws than most other states so maybe Volvo wanted to sell a car that complied with all the states' rules.

It's surprising though that Volvo don't fit an electric engine block heater on the T8 given that the car has to be plugged in anyway. Block heaters have been around for decades and are widely used in cold countries.

Something else odd for the T8 is that there is a fuel flap release button on the dash. I was told that it was to comply with Californian regulations, but not sure why it is only the T8. I did initially think it might disable the fuel heater when opening the flap, but again if the US don't get the fuel heater then who knows....
