Tripometer Max Distance???
My V70 3.2 2010's tripometer goes back to zero when it gets to 999 km's which is a bit annoying if one chooses to use the T2 mode to track when the oil was last changed (for instance).
Does anyone know if this max can be changed? Is anyone else's car doing this? Pretty dumb default value if you ask me...

Yep, though mine does it in miles not km, 999.9-000.0.
No idea if it can be changed as never wanted to, suppose your friendly dealer could tell you. Paul. |

Most trip odometers since the days of mechanical dials have been limited to 999.9 so it's a neither new or an unreasonable restriction. It is, after all, intended for a 'trip' not as a service indictator. If it's such a concern, why not make a note on a piece of paper on the mileage when oil was changed and when it's next due?

Thanks, guys. Yes I do make note of mileage in my maintenance log so no big deal but it's not uncommon for trips to exceed 1000km if you are going on a summer vacation with the family, etc and you live somewhere in North America. Seems to me that it would be handy to be able to use the "trip"-ometer to track your "trip"...no???? Yes, I know, I could also make note of the odo reading and do it that way but that's not the point - why have a half-ass tripometer that only tracks part of a journey???

Hi,
This "restriction" to 999.9 units is a larger restriction on our poor cousins who are forced to use Km/h Kms. 1000Kms is only 621 miles. So my "trips" can be about 50% longer! Des. . .
