Land Rover have had similar rear doors ever since the introduction of the first four door Range Rover around 1980. They persist with it even to the next new model, the new Defender. They just will not be told. Thing is, LR have never bothered to bring a modified shield out like Volvo in all of those nearly forty years. So well done Volvo for continuous prompt improvement.

I was opening the back doors on my girlfriends XC60 only yesterday and noticed how badly protected that area was....exactly like her old Freelander 2!!!

Parts now ordered but if anyone else is thinking about ordering they are on special offer at the moment so the price stated above is likely to increase. Order now!

Please let us know how much dealer charges to fit - current guesstimate is c 20 minutes time required.

For what it's worth I checked with my dealer as to whether these parts are likely to be fitted as standard by the time mine is delivered next April. His response was that it's too early to say but if the aren't fitted as standard he'll ensure they are fitted for me... fingers crossed and watch this space.
