Sell or keep ???
my volvo v70 bifuel 2.4 auto (2004) has just started to annoy me, it has around 166k on the clock, its been great since purchase around 12mth ago. but recently i calculaTED THE MPG RUNNING ON LPG. and turns out at only 13mpg.
now i know when i got it i was getting double that.it runs fine on both lpg and petrol, no missfires ect ect, it has had a service recently. but i have never had the lpg serviced. its booked in for next week. but im told that the factory fit necam koltec parts are now obselete. so if i cant get new parts should i sell or keep. or maybe sum1 out there in volvoland would know were i can source parts. 1 other option maybe is to get a complete new front end fit. but that im told would be around £1100+. but not sure if this option is viable, with the high milage on the car. any thoughts most welcome. |

Keep it and fettle it up!
The necam egi system is old, but all parts are available. It's not the most reliable out there, but it either works or doesn't (OK, it'll sort of work but keep cutting out if the stepper is failing and then lights the check engine light) mine's been rock solid since I changed the stepper motor. Have you had a code read and service to see if there are any other issues which are dragging your mpg down? 166k isn't particularly high mileage either |
