SC-805 TEL in my Volvo V90 '98
Hello there,
I am a Dutch hapy driver of a Volvo V90 of 1998. It has a SC-805 Radio/CD/tape unit. Out of the blue it gave me a code TEL on the screen and it muted completely. In combination I use a Parot for handsfree driving. I have no idea how to undo this code. Does anyone have a solution? Thanks in advance. The SC-805 takes a signal on pin A-9 to mute the radio when a call is in progress. Is it possible whoever installed your handsfree kit wired it into this?
I'm not sure whether there is a way manually to switch this mode. You could try the normal mute button - pressing the power knob. Failing that, maybe reset power to both the radio and the handsfree kit but only do this of you have the anti-theft code for the radio. |

Thanks again, Pietperd |

Does your parrot mute the radio and then use its speakers for the call? It must interface with the radio wiring somewhere. Probably behind the radio. It might be worth a look at the wiring to see what's going on. If nothing else you might be able temporarily to disconnect it and see if the radio returns to normal.

Thank you Forrest, it was the pin A-9 indeed. A formal kit that was installed had left a cable connected. When that was disconnected everything worked as it should. The only thing I could not understand is that it worked before when the cable was still connected. I think the old kit suddenly had a kind of a shortcut. Anyway its working now.
Thanks again Pietperd |
