Question 940 improvements

Hi, Just some advice please on improving the power output of my 93 940 GLE estate. Nothing too radical. My aim is to increase the torque range at lower rev's. Thank's George.

The question is - turbo or non-turbo? If it's non-turbo there's not that much you can do, apart from the usual air filter, exhaust etc.

Which engine do you have at the moment - B230F? There are a few things you can do, but none of it is easy.

The easiest would be to sell it and buy an LPT (or swap an LPT engine in)...they're cheap enough these days!

cheers

James

I've just fitted Les, Slight Limp's prototype grooved head. I was a little sceptical but found my GLT noiw has pulling power a lot further down the rev range. Towing a 740 estate on a main road home I was able to stay in 4th instead of up and down between 3rd and 4th. Power seems to come in from about 2000rpm as oppossed to about 3000 rpm previously. Still early days as it was the first day yesterday but it now feels more like the B20A torque wise. Certainly this is a low cost quick mod that seems to work.
