Thinking of modding....
Hi,just been pointed in the direction of RICA,and was wondering if anybody had done the 310 upgrade on a higher mileage engine?
I know the website says, dependant on age/condition.Just intrested to know how people got on.Cheers. |

Hi,
How high the milage is is less important to the condition of the engine. If it has been regulary serviced and well looked after there should not be a problem. If you are getting Volvotuning to do the work they will check over the general condition of the car before they start. Now, you may get other people posting after me telling you other wise, but I had a chip upgrade from rica (Volvotuning) and I can tell you, you won't be disapointed. Paul. |

Likewise. I had a RICA map on my C70 T5 not long after I had it. Transforms the car utterly, and it hasn't missed a beat in over 2 and a half years. Later, Dan. |

hp figures
Just remember any quoted figures may not be what you get. As long as you enjoy how the car drives that is the most important thing.
Don't forget other makes of ecu upgrade. I would check them all and see which works out best for you. I myself have an MTE/TME upgraded ecu of which i'm more than happy. Regards Iain

Also another option is a remap\chip from swauto's which is based in kent and home to the most powerful volvo in the uk.
I helped to develop the 850 t5 and r versions with them and im currently running one in my car. best to give all the companies a call and then see what suits you best. A remap is one of the best and easiest mods, it gets a lot harder and expensive after this.

Well Meaning Posts
Hi and welcome to the forum cherry. Your type of post appears very regularly on the forum where a member posts that they have heard of a performance upgrade that they are considering having on their car and what advice would people give.
Usually there are a flood of replies with people supporting the use of the upgrade in question with people giving personal recommendations based on their own experiences, other people will recommend looking at what they have on their car as with buying any product it's important to look at the whole picture of what is available as there is choice out there - it's a buyers' market. It can be totally confusing as everybody tries to help with advice and what appeared to be a simple request turns into a competition of mine is bigger and better even when the posts are well meaning! I would say that the best way to make a decision is to go out in different cars with different upgrades and then make an informed choice after speaking to people and experiencing the cars for yourself. Whatever you decide on I'm sure that you will not be disappointed! I'm sure that people will allow you to go out in their cars to sample what their particular car' upgrade has to offer - where do you live as I'm sure that people would be willing to help by taking you out in their car if there is somebody local to you!

What you said there goes without saying I reckon. Oh, but you have said it now, OK. um.... Cool. I will always stick with RICA for Volvos, but that is my personal choice. RICA/TME/MTE/PPC etc etc, all very good products. Wow, this is quite refreshing looking at all this from a different angle all of a sudden. |
