As long as the CD doesn't have The Crazy World of Arthur Brown on it, should be fine!

True, although when I did this it was more to reduce the risk of small animals falling in.

My precaution against fire is generally to do this sort of thing with the fuel tank brimful. I know this goes contrary to a lot of advice out there but my reasoning is that a tank full of fuel is apt to be less volatile than one containing a petrol/air mix. If I’m wrong there’s always the Darwin awards!

I'd say your reasoning is spot on, it's the vapour that's explosive and even throwing a lit match into a bucket of petrol will result in the match going out as there isn't enough vapour above the petrol to support burning and by extension, even the liquid won't support fire unless heated so it starts to vapourise or some other method is used to increase the rate of removal of vapour atoms.

I remember my ex neighbour telling me about being on exercise with the Army and there were some others setting the cook house up using petrol fueled stoves.
The first stove was already lit downwind of the one being filled up ready to be lit - the wind blew the vapour down (rate of removal increased by wind so turned the wind into fuel vapour/air mix) and suddenly the one being filled was lit too!

Also the ground (he dropped the can he was filling it with) and nearly everything else around!

Ahhh, yes I remember now! Mind you, when you said "my" last breaker I thought you meant the silver estate as opposed to the green estate which was technically "Andy's" last breaker lol!!

Sounds like a good plan. Luke needs to hold onto his but mine is surplus to requirements so once I do indeed dig it out it will be available.

My thoughts entirely Dave! As some of us know this is the second 760 mk2 estate to be saved in a month! Even more remarkable is that they are both dark blue with tan interior.....

Just been disassembling my sender unit tonight. As I can’t easily take up 360beast’s kind offer to compare 940 parts due to work, kids etc etc I’ve taken some pics to see whether the top part would be interchangeable. I reckon it will but here goes!

Music to my ears. Can’t get to Luke to compare so have put pics on previous post. Cheers.
