But to run it straight you'd need windows7.

To run it on win10, you'll need virtual machine.

Best to lookup member here, Cheshired5, and ask.

He's the best we have when it comes to installing Vida.

There's no quick install and forget method on a CD for Windows 10. It's possible but I couldn't be bothered.
My Windows 10 laptop has a 7 Professional partition which is a nice compromise between future proofing the laptop and having Vida to hand.

I understand if you replace the valve body, solenoid pack, or B4 that the gearbox ECU should be put into some kind of learning/adaptive mode.
can this be done with Vida using one of the eBay kits?

I bought one a couple of years ago and it seems to talk to the car systems well, but I have never tried to do anything this serious with it; and don't know where to find this type of control.
Any tutorials on actually using Vida for troubleshooting or diagnostics would be useful, as I have only found ones about installing it.

YouTube is chock full of demos on how to run transmission adaptations on VIDA. It helps to know what gearbox you’re using when you search though. I looked for stuff in the Aisin AW55-50 in my Geartronic C30, and it came up with everything from calibrating new valves, changing fluids, and initiating the adaptation routines using Vida or other diagnostic systems.
