Default 1999 V70R Phase 3 for sale

Hi VOC,

I’ve been a member of the VOC for under 2 years now (haven’t posted before, but have spoken to V70 lead Chris Mann). Anyway the time has come to sell my
beautiful 1999 registered, 2000 year chassis Phase 3 V70R AWD auto.

As the members will know here it’s the phase 3 R with the B5244T2 VVT engine, 265hp 2435cc 20-valve inline-five engine (five-speed automatic transmission), larger 19T turbo with 300 Ibft torque at 2500 rpm well maintained and fully functioning all-wheel drive.

The odometer indicates 119,670km (74,360 miles). I have been the second private owner of the car with the first owner in Japan. I had it imported from Japan in February 2019 and prior to shipping it had a complete Corrosion X rust prevention treatment undertaken.

I’m just posting the details here in case any members are potentially interested - the car is for sale for the next 6 days as an auction on Collecting Cars.com with 133 professionally taken photos, a detailed walk around video of car while engine running and detailed description.

https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/...-r-awd-phase-3

If anyone is seriously interested, questions can be submitted to me on the collecting cars auction page above or on this forum.

This is a lovely example of a modern classic and definitely in collectible condition with everything working as it should.

It’s a fantastic cruiser in traffic with great acceleration from the turbo in kick down and also very easygoing around town. This car has been my pride and joy and I don’t want to sell it, but I cannot fit three child car seats into the back.

The car is in excellent condition outside, inside and mechanically and comes with the original dealer handbooks, original auction sheet, a Japanese registration records and auction check (with English translation), Japanese service history with an English summary, UK independent Volvo service history, and the original Volvo tool kit including the torch and warning triangle.

I’ve been fastidious about undertaking scheduled and preventative maintenance

Key points about condition:

Overall condition outstanding for age, everything works, including AWD.
Exceptional maintenance record, no rust on body or underneath car.
Interior in great condition with minimal wear on seats given age.
Head lining clean and fully attached, no annoying rattles.
Good tread on all four tyres (tyres rotated periodically to ensure even wear and keep the AWD system working properly).

Only 5w-40 ester fully synthetic oil used by current owner to protect engine and turbo (engine always warmed up properly and turbo allowed to warm down before shut off). Genuine Volvo oil cooler seals changed with each oil and oil filter (genuine Volvo) change. Run on Shell V power.

Minor wear on steering wheel, Alcantara drivers seat and bolster, very minor cosmetic marks on near side alloys. Front differential has just been re-sealed due to previous slight weep (known to occur in these cars). AWD works perfectly.

Lots of preventative maintenance completed by me ahead of schedule and always genuine Volvo parts where still available or OEM parts used:

Timing belts water pump and poly belt changed on arrival to UK at 101,256km in March 2019 (previously changed in Japan at Volvo main dealer at 42894km on 13/06/2009).

Default Auction

Hi All,

Following up from my last post the car also has a Cat 1 Toad ai606 alarm fitted.

The full PCV / crankcase breather system was replaced as preventative maintenance in Oct 2019 at 66,781 miles using genuine Volvo parts where still available or Skandix OEM parts.

The car is also very insurance friendly as my insurance company (direct line) accept it the same as a UK car as it has a European chassis number even though I told them it was a Japanese import.

As it’s an auction on the collecting cars website all cars have a reserve unless it specifically says “No reserve” in the auction title.

Under the t&c’s of the website I cannot disclose the reserve 🙂

Apologies it appears the forum won’t allow me to respond to private messages until I have 30 posts.

Therefore the only way I can respond to private messages is to reply below my post.

Thanks Jools
