Default XC 90 Cruise Control Problems....Maybe

I had a number of engine system faults come up which led me to change the Air Swirl Actuator which definitely needed replacing. Post this repair, the car still goes into what I though was limp mode. I wiped all previous faults and am now getting 2: ECM - 928C - Cruise Control and ECM - 135F - Mass Air Flow Sensor. When the car goes into what I though was Limp Mode, if I kick it down, the engine will revs with no issue which now makes me think it might be dropping into Cruise Control thereby limiting the speed. The Cruise Control button doesn't do anything. I would have thought Limp mode would prevent the engine revving. I have cleaned the Air Mass Flow Sensor but don't want to change it unnecessarily. Any suggestions, anyone experienced similar issues? How difficult is it to change the Cruise Control button?
