I'm hearing different things about the 19T, ECU, downpipe & cat upgrade. Some say between 320-340bhp would be achievable, and some say about 300bhp is more realistic.

See the thing is, it wouldn't be worth spending the money if the increase was "only" 20bhp. Thats about 8% increase in power for about £2000.

Im running a 19 t on standard downpipe and custom rica map and I am seeing 280 whp and 430nm @ the wheels, the delivery of the 19 t is awsome compared to a 15g or 16t, i did the replacement when my turbo was well worn!
Before the replacement my 16t was down on power producing just 230 whp and running out of useful go at 4750 rpm!
On the road it drives like a normal quick T5 upto 4000 revs then it just goes bonkers, getting the powerdown isnt easy in second and 3rd and ive had the wheels spining in 4 th and 5th sometimes!

Now that's a useful post! Nice one. That's pretty much what I've been told to expect if I went down the 19T hybrid route - 280whp. That's what - about 325bhp at the crank?

Might well be enough for me. At the moment mine is quick, but it just doesn't have that edge I am looking for. Another 40bhp increase to 280whp might well do the trick!

There's another route I am looking at which is a different turbo (not 19T) new downpipes & race catr, injectors and custom remap. This would apparently give 310 - 330whp but even @ 310whp it might be a bit too mental.

As far as I know the 15G, 16T, 18T & 19T all have the same turbine exducer, inducer and housing dia. therefore its just about the compressor size / downpipe / fitment etc. hence the 16T / 18T highbred options. If I’m wrong then I stand corrected, but if you can’t find a 19T bargain these other options might be worth a look.

As regards the de-cat if you have a second oxygen sensor then just feed it more oxygen so it reads base line voltage, if it doesn’t follow the lead oxygen sensor regardless if it’s a wide band (ME7) or not you won’t get a cell light, for race use only lol

Hi Don. I'm currently having discussions with 3 different Volvo tuning specialists about their recommendations, the options they have available and the costs involved. I'm not going to go into which tuners etc or exactly what proposed figures come from where though.

In 1st and 2nd I have to go easy trying to get the power down due to wheelspin, but 3rd and above I can't wheelspin (not yet anyway)!

It was 230 whp on VTs dyno and also independenty (well Lane) @ 266 BHP fly wheel power,
Ive only had her done once on vt @ 280 whp but Im certain shes now in 315-330 club! The difference on the road is conciderable!
I wont be taking her back to well lane as last time I had to sit on the bonet and it didnt feel safe at 130 plus mph!

As Don hinted at in an earlier post, none of the Mitsubishi turbos even come close to the performance of the Turbo Technics hybrid T28. The 19T will max out at about 325-330bhp. The hybrid will easily take 360-370, has exactly the same fittings as the 19T, holds top-end boost MUCH better (peak boost in my T4 is 21psi, from 3600rpm to ~7500rpm) and it costs about the same. Why people are still buying the 19T I have no idea.
